Partnership and sexuality are still neglected areas in ageing research. They are often discussed from the perspective of the “deficit model.” However, new research shows that partnership and sexuality can be enjoyed to the full into old age, but that this requires adaptation and learning processes. The lecture will discuss the biological, psychological, social, and contextual changes in partnership and sexuality in old age and, building on this, present preventive
and therapeutic treatment options.
